Reviiri’s map printout features
All information collected in Reviiri can be presented in a consolidated way on a map background exactly as you want, and then turned into an output either as a digital PDF or raster printout, or directly as a physical paper or vinyl printout. This functionality is managed via the Map printouts tab.
Print templates and printouts
Reviiri’s printouts are created based on templates. A template defines what information is shown on the map and how it is displayed. Individual printouts can then be generated from the template. This makes it easy to define, for example, how the club’s hunting area boundaries should be shown and then produce matching printouts in digital format and on paper, and create new printouts with the same appearance when the hunting areas change.
At the top of the Map printouts tab, you can see the ready-made templates provided by the system as well as the club’s own custom templates. The button with the printer icon next to a template creates a new printout based on that template. Created printouts are shown in a list below the templates. Digital printouts are visible in the list for two weeks after they are completed, and physical printouts remain visible until they are manually cleared from the list.
Note! Digital printouts remain available for download for 14 days after they are completed. Download your printouts within that time.
Designing print templates
Print templates are designed in a view where the screen is split into two parts. One side contains the editing view, where map elements are added and modified. Next to it is the map view, which shows a preview of the final printout. However, the preview view may not fully match the final printout, so it should not be relied on too heavily.
Basic information
The first information shown in the template editor is the template’s basic settings:
- The template has a name that is only shown in the list on the Map printouts tab – it is not shown in the actual printouts.
- The title text is printed above the map as the map title.
- The print size can be selected from standard sizes A5–4A0 or set to a custom size. The maximum print size in one direction is 2.5 meters; there is no limitation in the other direction.
- With an additional margin setting, extra white space can be left around the edges of the printout for mounting or similar purposes.
- The scale can be selected between 1:5000 and 1:250000.
- The alignment can be set to automatic, meaning the printout is positioned so that the map center is the center point of the selected elements, or it can be positioned manually.
- In the map layers settings, you can choose to include property boundaries in the printout or leave them out. Property boundaries cannot be displayed at the 1:250000 scale.
- If desired, an inset map can be added to a corner of the printout. The inset map is a smaller-scale map segment showing the location of the main map within a wider context.
- The print size or scale can also be set to automatic. In that case, the system selects the automatic value so that all elements included in the printout fit nicely within the view.
Contract areas
You can add the desired contract areas from the club’s contract database to the print template by defining a filter based on hunted species. Different fill colors and patterns can be defined for areas outside contract areas, for the contract areas themselves, and for holes within the areas. In addition, line styles can be defined for the outer and inner boundaries of the areas.
Map markers
You can include the desired selection of the club’s map markers in the map printout by defining include/exclude filters as needed. You can configure fill and line colors, symbol size, and the display of marker names for the selected set.
Free text
With the Free text element, you can add fixed text to the printout in the color and size you want. This can be used, for example, to add explanatory text for the colors you use. Unlike other map elements, these texts can be edited in the map view by dragging them from the center of the text. When new free text is added, it is initially placed in the center of the current view.
Map view
In the map preview, the selected print size and positioning are shown as a dark gray outline. The outer edge of the dark gray area is the outer boundary of the printout, and the gray areas indicate the margins. If manual positioning is enabled, the printout area can be moved by dragging the gray area. When using a custom print size, the printout size can be changed by dragging from the edges.
Designing printouts
When a printout is created from a template, the editing view looks almost the same as when designing the template. However, changes made to the printout are not saved for future use, so larger edits should usually be made in the print template.
When creating a printout, you must also select the printout type. Digital printouts (PDF documents, raster images) are free up to a size of 0.5 square meters (for example A1). Larger digital printouts and all paper and vinyl printouts are paid for after the printout has been created in Reviiri’s online store. After payment, the print jobs move to the print queue, and when the job is completed, digital printouts can be downloaded. Physical printouts are sent to the specified delivery address.
